Terms and Conditions

Many thanks for showing interest in a Fubsies commission. I love collaborating to come up with something special! Below is some info about the process which I would like you to understand before we begin.

DEPOSIT

  • Commissions require a £75 deposit. Once this has been paid the design process can begin and the rest of the fee can be calculated depending on the nature of the work.

  • If we can’t agree on a design that is right for both of us then your deposit will be refunded and your commission will be cancelled.

  • Once the making process has begun the deposit is non-refundable.

DESIGN

  • All pieces must be in a similar style to my current work. I will not recreate the work of another artist.

  • You can have something I have already made replicated or you can come up with a new idea. You could also take bits of different pieces that you like and bring them all together into one item if you like. I am open to ideas so be imaginative!

  • The ceramic process has limitations. Take a look at my current style of work to get an idea of the kind of thing I am able to make.

  • I do not make true-to-life pet commissions. Unfortunately making pieces in a likeness to your beloved pet is very time consuming and doesn’t fit with my style. I will happily create animal pieces with an illustrative style like my current work.

  • I do not offer text based personalisations.

  • There is a limit to how many pieces I will produce for each commission. I like to work this out ad-hoc and judge each case individually but it is unlikely I will make multiple pieces as I want to give as many people as possible a chance to get something custom made.

PROCESS

  • Once the design has been agreed and the making has begun changes are not able to be made.

  • If you decide to cancel at any point I retain the right to sell your item on to another customer of my choice.

  • Expect the turn around time to be 7 weeks minimum, from the deposit being paid up to the point of delivery.

  • All commissions will be posted fully tracked by either Royal Mail Tracked 24 hour delivery within the UK or otherwise the UPS global service. This will incur an additional charge on top of your item’s fee which will be calculated once the finished piece is packed up.

  • Returns, refunds or exchanges are not permitted on commissioned pieces. 

  • Sometimes ceramics go wrong! There are a lot of technical factors in the making process that can lead to a piece breaking. Please be aware that there is a small chance this may happen with your work. If it does then I will begin making your item again. You are welcome to back out of the process at this point, however your deposit will not be refunded. You won’t incur any additional charges if I need to start again at any time.

  • Commissions are more expensive to produce than items in my shop. If you have seen something you like online then expect your commission to cost more as it is being custom made.

  • I work on one commission piece at a time so please be patient if you are on the waiting list.
